Odds of acquiring into UVA?
Nicely I?m going to be a senior at a Catholic H.S in New Jersey and I?ve quite significantly decided that I want to go into Urban/City Arranging, and have found that the UVA gives the significant and has a pretty excellent program for it. I went to visit it a couple weeks ago and fell in enjoy with it (excellent size, nice campus, not too far away from property, but far sufficient for ?independence?,etc). But with the really tough admissions rate, I am afraid I will not get in. Right here are my stats, you be the judge:
Male
Minority (Hispanic- Puerto Rican to be much more certain since I feel they may have their own section on tests sheets for race)
three.eight unweighted gpa
four.two weighted
Have taken honors classes since late freshman year
Going to take AP Spanish, AP Human Geography, and AP Human Environmental Science senior year ( Have to self research geog and environmental science due to the fact they don?t offer it at my school)
1600 SAT (Undoubtedly not sending that haha)
Going to take the ACT in September (have been finding amongst 28-30?s in practice tests)
National Honor Society
National Spanish Honor Society
Went on a research abroad trip to Argentina this summer season with my school
President of Yearbook
Volunteer at hospice
Spanish tutor
In Student Ambassador Club at my school as effectively
**Couldnt do any sports due to the fact of an injury 
Had a task all of sophomore year (was laid off due to economy)
Also had a task junior year but was also laid off due to economic climate
Organizing to get a task senior year
Read books to kids at an inner city medical clinic
Runner up f as a representative for the HUBY Leadership Seminar
Was in Operation Smile and Tomorrow?s Youngsters
Program on developing an AP Club for my school this upcoming year (So kids can study for the AP tests that the school dosent provide with other kids who are taking the identical subjects)
Considering that my SAT score is abysmal and the ACT will be a Enormous factor in my chances for acceptance, if hypothetically I did get a 28+ on it, and have killer essays and suggestions, do I stand a likelihood? What really should I do to strengthen my possibilities? Please be sincere, think be I can take anything hahaha. Also what other medium to tiny schools do you recommend for this significant
(I already know of rutgers, but other selections).

There is constantly a likelihood, but you need to contemplate a retake on the SAT. Also, you need to search at a community school as a back up plan, with the intention fo straight A?s for a year and then transfer into UVA. Be ready for a rejection discover, but accept it with the expertise that it is not the end of your possibilities. Operate challenging and be successful!
